Be on the Lookout for Tar Spot in Corn this Year
Tar spot is the latest new disease to appear in the United States. The disease has not yet been observed in Alabama, but we will be closely monitoring for the pathogen in 2020. Tar spot can be confused with common and southern rust pustules later in the season, however rust spores be scraped away from the pustules while tar spot lesions cannot be scraped off the leaf tissue. Stay up-to-date with tar spot reporting in the U.S. Read More
