Friday, May 15

This is Pastor Chris – T.G.I.F. – Thank God it is Friday!

It is hard to believe we are almost halfway thru the month of May. We all are weary of the difficulties and decisions we are trying to navigate at this time. It is hard to know how to muster the mental and physical strength we need for the challenges of each day. No matter what your struggle is today, The reality is that we don’t have to find that strength on our own. God can and will provide the power each of us needs to endure.

Endurance - the ability or strength to continue or last, especially despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions; stamina (from dictionary.com)

Today I included some bible promises to remind us all of how Jesus Christ can sustain us in the midst of difficult (or seemingly impossible) situations when we look to him for guidance and strength.

Phil 4:13  I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

2 Corinthians 4:7-9 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

Romans 15:5  May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus.

REFLECT: What is one specific area of your life you need endurance right now?

I don’t know what challenges, you are facing today, but God certainly does, and he is ABLE to lead you through them!

Have a great weekend!
