Alexandria Library Customers Gain Access to JSTOR

ALEXANDRIA, VA - MAY 13, 2020 -- Starting today, Alexandria Library is offering access to JSTOR for library customers.

JSTOR, a not-for-profit organization established with the assistance of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, provides access to more than 12 million academic journal articles, books, and primary sources in 75 disciplines. Alexandria Library users have access to the JSTOR Public Library I collection.

Usually this service is available only inside an Alexandria Library branch.  However, JSTOR has provided temporary remote access until June 30, 2020.  If users are unfamiliar with how to use JSTOR, an online tutorial is available on the Library's website: https://alexlibraryva.org/databases

"There has been constant demand for the service for many years.  Many of the JSTOR titles supplement requests from City leadership and management teams and enhance our role as an educational institution for the community per our Five-Year Plan." says Rose T. Dawson, Executive Director of Alexandria Library.
