PLAY THING IN THE NEWS
This week Canadian Theatre Review featured The Canadian Play Thing on their blog. Thanks very much to Giorgia Severini at CTR for the post.

The Playwrights Guild of Canada highlights the Play Thing in their Featured Playwright of the Month post - a Q&A with me about how the Play Thing got started and some of my thinking around the value of reading new plays. Thanks to Idil at PGC (especially for her patience!) While you are there, check out the PGC Member Marquee for other online events featuring Guild members.

CONGRATULATIONS!
... to the University of Alberta's BFA Acting Class of 2020, who gathered to read Meg Braem's CHRYSOTHEMIS on the Play Thing on Sunday - a graduating project they had been working on for three years which was cancelled due to Covid-19. Meg's play was riveting, and these young actors were thrilling to watch.

HOW TO ATTEND

Our cozy Zoom venue seats 100 audience members. The doors open 5 minutes prior to showtime. The audience does not appear on screen.  Click the zoom link (below) to enter the venue. Make sure to visit the concession prior to or during the show, located in your kitchen. During the reading, your mic and camera will not be enabled, so crinkle your wrappers, leave your phone on and bring your cat. After the reading, you can "raise your hand" to join the cast and playwright on-screen for a post show reception.
