World Vision 6k is Going Virtual!

IT’S RACE WEEK!
For sharing on social media, use #6KforWater Virtual race day is this Saturday, May 16th! Team Sioux Falls has raised over $2000 for the World Vision Global 6K for Water! Here are race week updates from World Vision:

  • Over 17,000 participants have registered for the World Vision 6K and have raised over $1M for clean water.
  • Over 20,000 people will have clean water from this year’s 6K fundraising.
  •  The Mother’s Day discount code has been extended and now expires on Friday, May 15th at midnight. Use ‘empowermoms’ for $10 off all registrations.

If you choose to register this week, you will still get a race packet but it will not arrive in time for race day. You can find a temporary race bib on the World Vision host site that you can print off at home and wear on Saturday. You will still get your cool, COLOR-CHANGING T-shirt in the mail and can wear it all summer long. And, don’t forget, you have the opportunity to sponsor the child on your race bib if you choose!

Still need to register?  Here is the link!

It’s crazy when you think about the fact that many teams probably thought about skipping the 6K this year with the uncertainty of COVID-19 and what that looked like. When it was announced that the 6K was still going to take place but it would be virtual I’m sure many people wondered how that would work. But, because the staff at World Vision decided to move forward faithfully, OVER 20,000 PEOPLE will get clean water. That’s a huge number and definitely something to be excited about! If you have registered and plan to walk this week or on race day, don’t forget to take photos to share with Team Sioux Falls. Please send any photos to the church office so they can be shared with others. Also, remember to share on social media using #6KforWater.

If you have not registered, it’s not too late to get involved and do the 6K on race day. Remember every $50 adult registration, $25 child registration or $50 donation brings clean water to one person. Thank you and have a FUN race day!!

Graduation Sunday

We want to honor our seniors, both high school and college, this year on May 23rd!  If you have a senior that you would like to be honored, please email Melissa Schutte at melissa.schutte@outlook.com.  Please include the senior's name, parent's name(s), future plans, favorite church memory, favorite bible verse and 3-5 pictures of the student.  The deadline to get the information to Melissa is May 15th.   Thank you!

Thank you's to the PHCC Family

1) Duane and I would like to thank you for the expressions of caring and sympathy after the passing of our brothers.  It was so very much appreciated.  It has been difficult to accept, especially under this unusual circumstances.  We miss all of you and sending our love,

Duane and Diane Sather

2) Thank you for your kind expressions of sympathy since Tom’s death...your calls, cards and notes, plant, food, memorial gifts and of course your prayers for peace.  It was good to have Kathy, Kevin and family here, especially in this time of isolation because of the Pandemic.

Blessings to you.

The Church council is working on a Re-Gathering Plan.  We will continue to worship virtually through our YouTube broadcasts through the month of May.
The Re-Gathering Plan will include gradual steps in order to maintain safety and at the same time be welcoming.  We recognize that there will need to be a number of changes in our building and gathering policies.  So, we will take our time and work together toward the new "normal".  We ask for your patience and participation.

Pray for wisdom and strength.  Volunteer to help as we make adjustments, and care for those who need your love and support during this transition.

A full schedule of the Re-Gathering Plan will be coming soon.  In the mean time, "Be careful, keep calm and don't be afraid.  Do not lose heart." Isaiah 7:4

Please keep watching the website, Facebook page and your email for updates.

Thank you and stay well!
