Health Officer Plans to Align
San Mateo County with
State’s Early Phase 2

"San Mateo County’s Health Officer Dr. Scott Morrow says he intends to issue a new shelter in place order, effective on May 18, that would bring San Mateo County in line with the early Phase 2 guidelines of the governor’s Resilience Roadmap:

The Roadmap allows for curbside and delivery activities for retail. Logistics and manufacturing, along with some other businesses, can open with modifications. Dr. Morrow expects to release the local health order, in line with the state order, later this week."

Donations to
San Mateo County Strong Fund Relief Campaign Top $8.2 million

In a press release on May 12th, it was announced that over 1,000 donors contributed to the San Mateo County Strong Fund totaling $8.2 million. The fund will provide grants to individuals and families, small businesses and non-profit groups impacted by COVID-19.

For small businesses "A total of $1.4 million in grant funding has been awarded to 142 eligible small businesses that demonstrated hardship related to COVID-19, reported Rosanne Foust, president and CEO of the San Mateo County Economic Development Association (SAMCEDA), which is helping to raise funds and administer grants."

"'We are so grateful to the San Mateo Credit Union and our collaboration with the County and the cities. Everyone has really had a touch on this whole process and we at SAMCEDA feel very fortunate to work with such great people,' Foust said."
