How COTS Youth is moving forward during quarantine...

Talent Show! +
COTS Youth Cribs, Ep. 5

Who:    You and your friends in grades 6-8

   When:   Friday, May 15, 7:00 - 8:30 pm

   Where:  Zoom...  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86933644771
Meeting ID: 869 3364 4771
NOTE: Because there are creepy people out there, we've enabled the Waiting Room. The host has to click you into the gathering. If you end up sitting there for more than 30 secs, please text Curt and remind him that you're trying to get in!

What:   Spotlight on another of our stars with Episode 5 of COTS Youth Cribs - a behind-the-scenes introduction to one of our very own.  Then it's all about celebrating what our youth can do!  Instrument? Singing? Feats of strength? Card tricks? Dancing? 3-pointers? Knitting? Double-Jointed? Acting? Math facts? Everyone's good at something(s)! NOTE: Encouraged, but not required - we'd rather have you there and not share than not there at all!

Why:    We may be feeling down about some stuff - Jesus followers sometimes do.  And that's okay!  It's also okay to make each other smile in the midst of hard times and bummers. Bring a friend and add to the fun.

Sunday Morning Groups

(AKA Sunday School)

Have you been to our Sunday morning gatherings?  We normally meet at church, but right now it's on Zoom.  There are 3 groups - one for Jr High, one for Sr High, one for youth in confirmation.  Here are details on the Jr High Sunday morning group...

Who:    Youth and friends in grades 6-8.  Led by veteran youth leaders, Brian Broadbent and Tom Wadsworth.

When:  This Sunday, and every Sunday, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

What:  It's God's story and our story.  We ask questions about what we read in the Bible.  "We laugh our heads off doing it." - a 7th grader.

   Where: Zoom... https://zoom.us/j/988052554?pwd=bGlhNWhheFpULzJIYVRWVVN4cm5HUT09
   Meeting ID: 315 820 523
   Password: 123456

Why:   COTS Youth is all about relationships with God and with each other.  Both are critical to living the full life that God wants for us.

COTS Church-Wide
Grads Parade Celebration!

Saturday, May 23, 3:00 pm
High school graduation is a momentous event, and this year's class had to miss most of the fun and celebration that goes with it.  It's a HUGE disappointment for the grads AND the parents.  Would you help us celebrate them?  The COTS community will gather in the main parking lot, get addresses and directions for the parade, and drive past the homes of our new graduates, horns honking, lights flashing, and passengers waving.  Bonus points if you decorate your car!  (Optional: Come early at 2:00 pm to decorate, supplies provided.)
Online COTS Kids & Youth Registration 2019-2020
A completed COTS Kids & Youth Registration is required for each youth and is valid for the school year.  Please help us by having friends' parents complete the waiver.

Something to Think About...

I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other.
---John 13:34 (CEB)

What do you think of when you hear about people loving and caring for each other?  Maybe praying with someone at their hospital bed?  Bringing food to a person with no home?  What if it also included stuff that's WAY simpler?

What if juggling for someone to make them smile is an act of love?  Or singing a song?  Or doing a handstand?  It's easy to overthink it and end up holding back.  You are created by God as a masterpiece!  Take a minute to talk with God about your skillz.  Could they be used to brighten someone's day?  Consider loving another person by sharing with them what God has enabled you to do!
