2nd Quarter Pastor Meetings

Since in-person gatherings are currently not permitted, the MCP Team will be hosting second quarter pastor meetings via Zoom. There will be two opportunities to connect with us on Sunday, May 17 and two opportunities to connect on Monday, May 18. At this time Apostle Lach Mackay is planning to join us for all four sessions. Please see below and click the link to register for the day and time that is best for you. You will then receive information to connect by phone or computer for that meeting.

These meetings are planned to take place for one hour. We will share the same information at each. Hopefully we will have updated guidance from the First Presidency and State of Michigan regarding the timeline and steps for returning to in-person gatherings and what may be possible for camping and gathering ministries this summer. We will share any information we have and then take time to listen to your questions and receive your feedback and concerns. If you have any immediate needs or would like to submit questions in advance, please contact Dan Nowiski at dnowiski@cofchrist.org or (989) 506-1843 .

All spring congregation conferences (business meetings) should be cancelled or postponed until in-person gatherings are permitted. If there is an immediate need to conduct a conference by phone/internet, please notify Dan Nowiski for requesting permission from the First Presidency and establishing details on meeting rules and procedures.

We look forward to connecting with you during one of the Zoom meetings on May 17 or 18!

Abolish Poverty, End Suffering
Oblation Funds Help Families in India

Community of Christ sent $19,500 in COVID-19 crisis support on 8 May to the states of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh in India.
The money from World Church Disaster Relief/Oblation will aid 84 congregations and 2,413 families. Each family will get 10 kilograms (about 22 pounds) of rice, 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of dried legumes known as dal, and two bars of soap. Transportation costs also will be paid.

“This support will provide important assistance to our church members and friends in villages that have suffered economically from the COVID-19 shutdown,” said Field Bishop Mark Euritt.

Assistance like this is possible because of the ongoing generosity of church members around the world. Thank you for your contributions that uplift the Worth of All Persons and help Abolish Poverty and End Suffering.

Bread for the World - Virtual Advocacy Summit

Lift Your Voice With the 2020 Virtual Advocacy Summit

Inspire Change in a Time of Social Distancing

You’re invited to attend Bread for the World’s 2020 Virtual Advocacy Summit: Our Faith, Our Future on June 8 and 9. The summit will include both pre-recorded and live sessions.

These are difficult times, but social distancing doesn’t have to leave us sitting on the sidelines. COVID-19 is a hunger crisis and we need your voice to ensure that the most vulnerable here in the United States and abroad receive the nutrition they need to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

During these two days, Bread members from around the country will gather online to worship, participate in advocacy-focused workshops, learn up-to-date legislative priorities, and virtually lobby Congress on hunger and poverty.

Register Today! www.bread.org/advocacy-summit

Other highlights of the 2020 Virtual Advocacy Summit include:
Latino Leaders Convening
Pan African Consultation
A screening of Rick Steves’ “Hunger and Hope: Lessons from Ethiopia and Guatemala” followed by a Q&A session with Rick.

Visit our website for more information about the Advocacy Summit, which will be updated periodically. We hope you will mark your calendars and register today!

In gratitude,
Virtual Advocacy Summit Team
