Dear Atlanta Christian Church family and friends,

Here at ACC, we remain committed to our vision of being a “growing, multi-generational family of believers impacting our community for Christ.” As elders, we have prayerfully considered how to stay faithful to Jesus and our vision.  We want to safely navigate reopening our doors for corporate worship. Aligning with the Governor’s “Restore Illinois” 5 phases for central Illinois, we intend the following actions:

• Phase 2 (current):
  • Online Sunday morning worship and Wednesday evening prayer
  • Groups of 10 or less are welcome to meet in private homes for the Sunday morning worship services
  • Groups of 10 or less are welcome to meet at the church building and/or private homes throughout the week
• Phase 3 (in addition to the above):
  • Leaders may occasionally designate homes available for Sunday morning worship gatherings of 10 or less (with online sign-up)
  • Groups of 10 or less to be invited on a rotating basis to attend the live streaming worship service at the ACC building on Sunday morning
• Phase 4:
  • Reopen the ACC building for Sunday morning worship (maintaining the “50 or less” restriction through using multiple rooms and/or service times)

We will maintain social distancing and other guidelines/precautions throughout all phases.

We are asking the church family to pray for wisdom and discernment as we strive to follow the Spirit’s leading regarding how our church will move forward in how we might be able to gather together for corporate worship and fellowship once again.  We want to gather in the most appropriate and God-honoring way while protecting each other and remaining respectful of the federal, state and local authorities (Romans 13:1-7).

We have been so encouraged by the number of people who have been worshiping with us online for the past nine weeks (around 175 each Sunday).  We are confident that our future corporate gatherings will be stronger as a result of your faithfulness and the trials we have faced.

We love you, church!  As Paul said in 2 Tim 1:4, “We long to see you so that we may be filled with joy!”
