Graduate Student Professional Development Digest
May 15-31, 2020

Dear Grad Students,

Congratulations on making it through another semester at Berkeley! We hope that you take time to celebrate your many accomplishments during these challenging circumstances.

We also hope that you’ll consider joining one of our summer check-in groups. In these small groups of graduate students meeting regularly throughout the summer, you’ll practice and improve the very important skills of goal-setting, planning, and accountability with a friendly, supportive community. Fill out the Summer 2020 interest form and learn more about the GradPro check-in groups at two upcoming info sessions:

Thursday, May 21 at 1:30 p.m.
Monday, May 25 at 11 a.m.
For details on how to join the Zoom info sessions, fill out this form.

Read on for some great internship openings, resources to help you teach remotely, and other professional development opportunities!

Register here for the career lab “Job Hunting in a Tough Economy,” which will
help you understand the factors at play and learn about practical, effective steps. This event on May 21 at 10am is targeted at graduate students in the biosciences, but other doctoral students and postdocs are welcome!

Resources for Remote Instruction

Also be sure to check out the GSI Teaching & Resource Center's downloadable guide to teaching remotely, and the Academic Innovation Studio's two sets of recurring workshops throughout the rest of May: Remote Instruction Strategies for Summer Sessions Instructors and Tools for Remote Instruction.
