The Animas and San Juan Watersheds Webinar Planning Committee reminds interested presenters that tomorrow, May 15th, is the deadline for abstract and paper submissions related to the theme, Managing and Improving Water Quality in a Multijurisdictional Watershed.

Students, researchers, agencies, watershed partnerships, conservation groups, tribes, and local governments are encouraged to submit abstracts on a range of topics related to water quality both throughout the Animas and San Juan River Watersheds, as well as from other watersheds with comparable water quality issues.

Relevant topics include:
  • Watershed monitoring and planning
  • Heavy metal contamination
  • Superfund cleanup process
  • Forest health connection to watershed hydrology and river water quality
  • Urban watershed concerns
  • Agricultural needs and impacts
  • Industrial impacts
  • San Juan Basin watershed dynamics
