MAY 14th – BCA PRESENTS THE SHED INFO SESSION
OPEN CALL OPPORTUNITY FOR ARTISTS
BCA is partnering with The Shed on their 2021 Open Call Info Sessions. The Shed serves as an incubator for unrepresented artists across NYC. Together, we are providing an online session on  Thursday, May 14th from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM  o ffering  Bronx artists a chance to learn more about The Shed’s current commissioning   Open Call  that will provide individual artists or collectives a fee of up to $15,000, if selected. MAY 20th – RESURGENCE OF MAGIC
WEBINAR SERIES BY RESIDENT ARTIST BLANKA AMEZKUA
Resurgence of Magic is an invitation to collectively create a variety of art objects and a text, taking into consideration materials that you have readily available in your home, while contemplating the effects of Covid-19 in our lives. These virtual workshops, every Wednesday and Friday until June 12th from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM , will invite you to reflect on your current state of mind, how you think of others, what has given you strength during these times, about the things you are missing, and much more. The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) and the Center for Bronx NonProfits (CBNP) are partnering to offer a webinar series dedicated to BX non-profit organizations. In this series, led by Molly Penn of Penn Creative Strategy, participants will learn about tools and resources that will aid their organization's crisis management. The first webinar will take place on Thursday, May 21st from 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM. SOLUTIONS AND RECOVERY: THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX
As we look towards the future, we will gather together in a community conversation to share and discuss solutions and strategies to move forward in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. What are some creative ways we can devise to continue our artistic practices in the future? Can we use technology in new ways? How can we work to collaborate and support one another? CENTER FOR BRONX NONPROFITS
The Center for Bronx Nonprofits (CBNP) is a convening, training, and resource-sharing organization, which strengthens the capacity of local community leaders and organizations serving the Bronx and other boroughs. CBNP functions as an important support organization to Bronx nonprofits, facilitating opportunities for leadership and organizational development, and technical skills training. CBNP brokers dialogue on resource-sharing so that Bronx-based and Bronx-serving nonprofits strengthen their individual and collective effectiveness.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR ARTISTS:   Post opportunities and stay informed about recent ones such as residencies, call for artists, studio space and more.
