FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MAY 15, 2020

In an effort to promote the health and safety of our employees and the people we serve, The Virginia Victims Fund’s office remains closed to the public until further notice.

During this time, all VVF employees are continuing to telework and the majority of our services remain fully operational.

VVF will continue to work closely with stakeholders in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia and Commission guidelines and recommendations.

Additional Updates:

VVF Claim Applications/Operations:

VVF has resumed inbound and outbound mail processes twice a week. Please note that documents and applications sent via USPS may take extra time to be received and processed.

Applications that are submitted via WebFile will continue to be processed. Please remember to include (upload) any documentation to support expenses with the application.  (For Example, Police Reports, medical bills, etc, if available). This will support faster claims processing.

Please note: During this time, VVF will accept applications without the Notary Acknowledgment completed.  However, unsigned applications will be held until the signature page is received.  Applications will also be accepted using DocuSign (https://www.docusign.com/enotary/notaryterms).

For additional information regarding Online Notarization, please check the Secretary of the Commonwealth website at:  https://www.commonwealth.virginia.gov/official-documents/notary-commissions/enotary/

VVF Sponsorship Program:

Approved events that have been postponed due to COVID-19 are still eligible for sponsorship as long as the details and content of the event remain the same and the event is held in CY2020.  If the Event is postponed until CY2021, please resubmit your application. Please follow the 2021 VVF Sponsorship Guidelines and Application Process once released.

REMEMBER: This is a great time for staff or roll call training! VVF can provide virtual training on the Fund's eligibility requirements, Claims Processes, Restitution & Recovery, Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) Program, and/or WebFile. Please contact the Training and Outreach Coordinator to set up a training.

Thanks for all you do!
Stay safe and healthy!
