Weekly Update | Friday 29th May 2020
Kia ora koutou!
Welcome to our new-look weekly update. As we now celebrate Pentecost and recognise the diocese's 40th year, plus move further out of lockdown, we wanted to emphasise the work that the Holy Spirit has done to keep us united. The Te Reo title above translates as United in the Spirit.
This weekend is an exciting moment for our Church: we can return to our liturgical celebrations! Pentecost Masses for up to 100 people will be celebrated across the country. Below we have links to special prayers for Pentecost weekend, the ongoing livestream from the Cathedral, and other special resources.
Don't forget to connect with us on Facebook and Instagram for updated information throughout the week, and encourage others to sign up for these updates at www.pndiocese.org.nz/newsletter.

Reminder: the dispensation of attendance at Sunday Mass continues.
This means that there is no obligation attend and celebrate Mass this Sunday. If you're unwell, don't feel comfortable returning to Mass, or aren't able to attend because of restricted numbers or other concerns, we hope the prayer resources offered below keep you connected to our diocese and help you to celebrate Sunday as a holy day.

'The Upper Zoom': this Sunday at 4:00pm
As part of our celebrations on Pentecost Sunday there will be an inspiring time of prayer hosted online and led by people from across the whole diocese. This will be a unique opportunity to pray together across the entire diocese, so you won’t want to miss out! All welcome. You can read more info on our website.
The prayer booklet will be available to download on our website later today, so you can pray along with us or pray it at a time that suits you.

Prayers for Pentecost
Masses might be starting back, but our regular prayer resources will continue to be developed! Not only will many people not be attending Sunday Mass yet, but these resources are great for praying throughout the week or at special gatherings.
This week we have the 'United in Prayer' and 'Prayer at Home' resources for Pentecost weekend, plus special resources that teachers can use in their classrooms to help their students connect with the meaning of Pentecost.
