Shall We Gather at the (Digital) River
 A Virtual Town Hall Meeting
for Ministry Personnel and Regional Representatives
Thursday, May 28    3 pm MT
Plus New Password for Chinook Winds Directory

Friends,

We hope you can join us for our Town Hall this Thursday at 3 pm.

While this was in the Ministry Personnel Coffeebreak notice, we are sharing this again here in case you missed it: High River Ministry Personnel David Robertson recently shared with us an article called The Coming Pastoral Crash. The article outlines several themes that we have heard in conversations with ministry personnel and church leaders over the past weeks.

At the same time, at the very bottom of the article, the author suggests the best strategy  is for church leaders to be committing to ministering to their own hearts first and for looking out  for one another. That "best strategy" is at the heart of the Ministry Personnel Coffee Time and the Chinook Winds Town Halls

David also shared a Phases of Disaster or Crisis graph that he and Susan Lukey, High River United Church, originally found helpful following the 2013 floods. "While COVID 19 has its unique character beyond the scope of this graph,” writes David,  “It’s important I think, to honestly ask church leadership where they locate themselves. Spoiler alert… while the pandemic is in many ways more fluid given the changing health measures and protocols announced on an almost weekly basis, we are generally just over the top and on the way down towards disillusionment."

Now, it is ever so important that we continue to ground ourselves in our faith and look out for one another.
Also, As Treena Duncan mentioned last week, the United in Learning webinar that occurs at 1:30 pm MT just before we gather is expected to focus on Opening Church buildings to tenants. These webinars are also taped and will be available afterwards HERE.
