A Note from the CEO

While we have spent more time at home than ever, the great spring weather has allowed us a much needed escape during these anxious times—and it’s allowed our farmers to plant their crop on time—a welcome break from the challenges of past years!

We are preparing for a return to a more normal way of life as more businesses open and many of the activities that are a part of our life return.

Our lobbies have been closed since mid-March. While we haven’t announced the re-opening date yet, we know we are getting closer to that each day. We are working hard to ensure our lobbies will be healthy and safe for you and our team:
  • Our staff will wear masks (wearing masks is optional for our customers)
  • Plexiglas panels have been installed in customer contact areas
  • Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout our branches
  • Temperatures of our team members will be taken each day and those not feeling well or showing symptoms of any illness will return to their home
  • Cleaning practices and schedules for our branches have been enhanced
The health and safety of our team and our customers are the most important factors we will consider when we do open our lobbies.

Just because our lobbies are closed, doesn’t mean our commitment to you has changed. We’ve continued to provide all of the banking products and services you need and expect. Here are some of the highlights from the past three months:
  • Our drive-ups and walk-ups continue to be open normal hours
  • Our ATM network is available 24/7 (remember you can earn nationwide ATM refunds with a qualifying Kasasa account!)
  • Internet banking, Mobile Banking, Bill-Pay, Mobile Deposit, Telephone Banking are all free and available to all account holders
  • Remote Deposit Capture activity has increased—talk to your banker for details on how this can help you
  • Access to your safe deposit box and face to face conversations with your banker are available by appointment
  • Our bankers are available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week by phone (because bankers’ hours are a thing of the past!)—check this link for banker contact information
  • Check out the Bright Projects section below for the community projects we’ve completed during the past three months—our lobbies may be closed but our communities are open!
  • We have provided $65 million to 700 local businesses supporting nearly 10,000 jobs with the Paycheck Protection Program—we can help you too!
There is so much to be anxious about in our world today, but there is so much good. Your patronage and commitment to us, our friends, neighbors and businesses in our communities are part of what’s good.

In your service,
David P. Krause, CEO

COVID-19 Updates

Making a Positive Impact

During this COVID-19 crisis, Pioneer Bank has funded over $65 million to over 700 small businesses, independent contractors and sole proprietors through the Paycheck Protection Program, helping save nearly 10,000 jobs in southern Minnesota. See what businesses are saying.
"While I had been aware of the Payroll Protection Program from the start, I did not think it would apply to my company. I am very grateful that Steve Cooling and Pioneer Bank proactively reached out to me and helped me better understand the program. He provided me with everything I needed to complete the application in a short period of time and made the whole process as simple as possible. The PPP loan has helped Christensen Communications Company cash flow as we continue to serve our customers during this pandemic."
- Brent Christensen, Christensen Communications

Security Update: Avoid Scams Related to Economic Payments, COVID-19

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the United States Secret Service (USSS) urge all Americans to be on the lookout for criminal fraud related to these economic impact payments. Specifically, this joint alert warns of fraud using coronavirus lures to steal personal and financial information, as well as the economic impact payments themselves—and of adversaries seeking to disrupt payment efforts. These combine efforts to alert all Americans is due to the U.S. Government continuing to encounter instances of criminals using stimulus-themed emails and text messages to trick individuals into providing personally identifiable information and bank account details. The Bright Project

In May, some of the Pioneer Bank crew from North Mankato took some time recently to clean up the ponds at Benson Park in North Mankato. A big thank you to the City of North Mankato for providing our supplies including bags and gloves. The Mapleton staff also volunteered to clean up city parks including Heritage Park, Wayside Park, Veterans Memorial and the Mapleton Community Center.

Thank you for your support. Together we make an impact.
