Thank You FreshWater Cleveland for Coverage on our Mask the District Initiative!
We are so grateful that FreshWater Cleveland wrote an article about Mask the District! Here is a snippet:

"As people scramble for masks during the coronavirus pandemic, leaders in the Campus District are more concerned with protecting some of Cleveland’s most exposed people.

Jane Finley, founder of Across the Lines, put Mask the District into action after working with the women of the YWCA Norma Herr Women’s Center. “I was concerned about the women I knew at the shelter and I wondered if there was a need [for masks], so I reached out to the director of the shelter,” recalls Finley. She learned from Rochena Crosby, Norma Herr’s senior director of shelter services, that masks were needed to keep the women at Norma Herr safe.

So far, the Mask the District campaign has distributed about 500 masks and will continue to make and hand out more masks indefinitely.

Mask the District still needs volunteers to make masks. The organization even provides a no-sew, step by step guide to making masks and encourages volunteers to reach out if they need supplies or other materials."

This year the Portfolio Show was postponed indefinitely due to Covid-19. Each year, the students develop a theme and custom graphics. This year, the theme is “Connect”. Updates to COVID-19 Response and Resources
Campus District's COVID-19 Resource Guide is being updated as new information is presented! We have created a list of resources that members of our community are encouraged to reference during these hard times. This includes anything from support for artists, to support of local businesses. We hope the compiled list can direct anyone to the resources they need, such as those who need to apply for unemployment, or those who need business relief through small grants. Click the green button below to access this resource list. As always, Campus District staff is available to help. Do not hesitate to contact Executive Director Mark Lammon for additional advice, and Director of Programming and Community Engagement Rachel Oscar for resources that this list may not include.

During this time, DCA is providing one meal per shift for each Ambassador. All meals are sourced from a local restaurant that is open for carryout & delivery. That means when you buy an Ambassador a meal, you’re also supporting a downtown restaurant, doubling the impact of your donation.
