Kidical Mass Turns 8 this month! It’s been a joy to see the community and families grow over the years, from one bike to two or three alongside them. It’s our monthly marker of growth and we truly have enjoyed every third Sunday that we’ve gotten to explore our lovely neighborhood with you all, street by street and ice cream cone by ice cream cone.
And while this year has put us back from celebrating in person we thought we’d share some highlights from the last few years, starting with this highlight reel from Anthony Puente of Digital Revolution, until we can roll out again:

It wouldn’t be a proper Kidical Mass without the annual "Blessing of the Bikes" by Pastor Danny Bradfield:
Blessed are the bikes on which you ride, and blessed are you who ride them.
Blessed are those who ride with you, and blessed are those who can’t ride with you now due to COVID-19.
Blessed are the bikes we once rode to school, to work, to friends’ houses, and to places of worship; may we be able to do so again soon.
Blessed are the bikes that made us stronger. May our strength continue to grow.
Blessed are the bikes which brought us together as a community. May we remain united and connected even now, and always.
And let us remember the lesson of the bike: to stay upright, keep moving forward

Kidical Mass: Bike Blessing by Danny Bradfield

2012 was our first year! Over 300 riders showed up to ride through the beautiful neighborhoods of Los Cerritos and Virginia Country Club. Everyone was treated to ice cream and fun activities at Georgie's Place and it has been our go to meet up spot ever since
2013 we celebrated our first year with renegotiation by council member Al Austin and we awarded our first Iron Kid Award to Presli for most improved cyclist of the year
Second year our Iron Kid was Jacobi- he even made the paper!
We found him! Our Annual Lucky Leprechaun Rise remains a BKBIA favorite
We have watched kids grow up and move on to high school, and some kids have come and gone, but we look forward to riding with you all in the upcoming months and enjoying this Bixby Knolls tradition for many years to come.
