broadcast from the Royal Foundation of St Katharine
Dear <<First Name>>,
As a supporter of retreats at the Royal Foundation of St Katharine, and someone who has valued being with us for a time of prayer and reflection over the past couple of years, we would like to invite you to take part in this unique offering.
With our prayers during this time of challenge.
Kind wishes,
Carol Rider Chaplain at Royal Foundation of St Katharine
In a time of great change this retreat will focus on a rhythm of contemplative prayer and reflection to centre us in God’s love and hope. Those participating will be invited to join with us in a 24 hour cycle of prayer, rest and contemplation.
The Royal Foundation of St Katharine is an oasis of hospitality, peace and prayer in London’s East End.
We are delighted that the retreat will be led by Revd Richard Carter, Associate Vicar for Mission at St Martin-in-the Fields. He is author of The City is My Monastery: A Contemporary Rule of Life and leader of The Nazareth Community.
This unique offer to personally join this 24 hour retreat will include led sessions exploring; seeking, scripture, sharing and sacred spaces. There will be opportunities to virtually join our live Chapel services, alongside creative space for times of stillness, prayer and contemplation.
While we will not physically be together we hope this will be a genuine new opportunity to spend time on retreat through the gift of virtual connected-ness at this extraordinary oasis.
During the current crisis we are serving the NHS offering care for those leaving hospital but not yet ready to go home. We are also an operations centre for Limehouse Aid a network of over 230 volunteers supporting the community. The Yurt Cafe is a shop for supplies and takeaway craft coffee.
