A Message from The Executive Council of The Carpentries
Due to the ongoing pandemic, The Carpentries Executive Council decided to hold its 2020 meeting online. Between 12 and 13 May 2020, the Executive Council met via Zoom, and worked in teams on different projects related to The Carpentries Strategic Plan that the Executive Council developed and approved in 2019. In the meeting, the Executive Council tackled the following topics:

  • Dealing with custom workshops that mix and match different lessons,

  • How to evaluate external collaborators with respect to our values and the Code of Conduct, and

  • Setting directions for growth in new regions.

Last but not least, the Executive Council

  • Commenced work on the bi-annual revision of The Carpentries bylaws and
  • Held its monthly Executive Council meeting for May 2020 where the first one-year plan derived from the Strategic Plan was discussed. The first-year plan will be approved soon and then shared with the community.
