Volunteers Week 2020

Normally by this point, I would be frantically finalising the Volunteers Week event plans.
Obviously, this isn’t possible this year. As you may be aware, I am coordinating Wirral's voluntary response to COVID19, so I will be doing as much as I can online. As always, it would be awesome for you to get involved;
  1. Monday 1st June: Introduction to Volunteer Management on Zoom – Book your place here
  2. Thursday 4th June: In addition to Clap for Carers, I think we could do a campaign where we encourage residents to Cheer for Volunteers at the same time. We've created a Facebook event here - if you could share to your friends, family and colleagues, that would be fantastic.
  3. Friday 5th June: I will be doing a Facebook and Instagram Live post to say thank you to volunteers across Wirral
  4. Week Long: Volunteers Week 2020 Certificates – For any volunteers that have volunteered, even for 1 hour, since 7th June 2019 to present day. This is open to volunteers who have left your organisation but still volunteered within that timeframe.
    1. Simply email the name of your volunteers and I'll get e-certificates across to you to pass on digitally or physically.
  5. Week Long: If possible, could you identify a volunteer that should link to one of the seven day themes? This could highlight an innovative approach to continuing volunteering during lockdown or what drives them to volunteer. If it could be backed by a picture (doesn't have to be an action shot), that would be awesome.
    1. Monday - Listening & support (e.g. helplines, citizens advice)
    2. Tuesday - Health & well-being (e.g. mental health, tackling social isolation)
    3. Wednesday - Fundraising for the causes we care about (e.g. charity shops)
    4. Thursday - COVID-19 response and informal community civic action
    5. Friday - Nature & Outdoors
    6. Saturday - Arts & Culture
    7. Sunday  - Sport & Leisure
The stuff CAW does for Volunteers Week wouldn't work without your help and support. As always thank you for allowing me the opportunity to say thank you to your volunteers.
Just a quick reminder, I'm still contactable via email or phone.
Stay safe,
Keelan
