Many of you have asked how our team is doing so I'll be turning over this space to them in the coming weeks. Here's a message from Mallory. ~ Kelly

I hope you’re all well. It has been so nice to see some of your faces over Zoom, receive updates on how you’re doing, or wave from a (social) distance on Mt. Pleasant St.
 
Frankly, keeping myself accountable to my practice (as a student) has been hard. With a six-month old and full-time job off the mat, there are days where it feels easier not to “show up” and take class. I’m sure many of you can relate! However, I recently took a Saturday morning livestream class, and it didn’t matter that there was a baby on my mat, trying to eat my blocks and strap. It just felt good to be there. It felt good to see everyone at the end, waving, and knowing we had just held space for each other, even from afar.
 
So, thank you for showing up. For us, for each other, but mostly for yourselves.

Reopening and Membership Special

As you probably know, Phase 1 of Mayor Bowser's reopening plan is expected to start later this week. Yoga studios will be permitted to open during Phase 2, but with very limited capacity. Beginner Pilates

Interested in learning what Pilates is all about? Join Liz Bernstein for a mat Pilates practice highlighting the important points of each exercise and how to modify for any body.  

Roll and Restore

Join Ellie Conrad for Self-Massage and Restorative Yoga. We'll use tennis balls for myofascial release then move into restorative poses that allow the massage to integrate deeply into the body.

Partner Yoga

Grab a friend, roommate or family member and join Jenna Grubman for an invigorating Flow practice where you’ll work with a partner in fun and creative ways to build strength and stretch the body. Then, relax with Emma Silverman and enjoy some well-deserved relaxation with partner massage and meditation. 

Summer Solstice Workshop

SIn this workshop with Nichole Ferrigno explore movement that is playful yet cooling as an antidote to summer's extreme heat. We'll play with movement, explore cooling breath work, and talk seasonal self-care tips for maintaining optimal well being.

Practicing Mindfulness in Times of Uncertainty
June 27  |  3:00-4:30 PM
In times of uncertainty and change, we can draw on mindfulness practices to help us move beyond constricting habitual patterns such as fear, denial and despair and to awaken our inner capacities for compassion, wisdom and joy. Suitable for both new and experienced meditators, this program with Sharon Salzberg will consist of guided meditation, discussion, and questions and answers.
