SAVVIK Foundation Grant

*ALL SERVICES NOW ELIGIBLE*
The Savvik Foundation and the American Ambulance Association have launched a grant program available to all ambulance providers who are preparing to comply with the Cost Data Collection program through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Through Savvik Member purchases under contracts, the Savvik Foundation was able to fund grant dollars through the American Ambulance Association (AAA). Through this grant, services are eligible to receive a free AAA Ambulance Cost Education Gold subscription, which includes access to experts on cost collection, access to AMBER software, and free registration to webinars and regional workshops. The subscription will extend through the first deadline for reporting, which is May 31, 2022. This grant is available to any service looking for Cost Collection Education, regardless of whether or not they were selected to report in the first year.

CONDITION OF GRANT APPROVAL
In an effort to gather data to further exemplify the need for increased reimbursement for the ambulance industry, we are asking all services who are granted our free ACE subscription to report their 2020 data into the AMBER software. The AAA will be here to support you and answer any questions related to reporting your date into AMBER. To assist you in reporting, please view our AMBER overview webinar here or email our faculty at ACEfaculty@ambulance.org.

Labor Costs

Thursday, June 11, 2020 | 2:00pm EST

Finding out how CMS defines labor, especially as it pertains to medics, administrative staff, and contract labor, can be critical to submitting the most accurate and complete data. Personnel and labor costs are typically the most expensive costs for any ambulance organization. Reporting accurate costs will be vital in giving CMS the information it needs to make good decisions on payment policies. Join us to learn just how important reporting your “fully burdened labor costs” can be. Purchase Webinar.

Facilities and Vehicle Costs

Thursday, July 9, 2020 | 2:00pm EST

CMS needs information on how the many different types of EMS organizations are housed and how those facilities are paid for. When it comes to shared services, how should the facilities be apportioned so that each area is fully accounted for? What about remounts of ambulances and the costs associated with that? Where do other vehicles fit in? By participating in this webinar, services can learn what mileage CMS needs, what counts as an ambulance, as well as how to provide good data on repair, maintenance, and insurance costs. Purchase Webinar.
