Wende Stories
An archival initiative inspired by the mission of the Wende Museum
Wende (pronounced “venda”), a German word meaning “turning point” or “change,” is often used to describe the period of political transformation following the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany. As an institution named for change, the Wende Museum is dedicated to collecting and sharing personal stories, experiences, and reflections in response to major historical shifts.

We invite our community to
express and share stories of their own “wende”. We welcome digital responses in all media.
