Summer Reading is Different this Year
No registration - Just read or listen to books!

Join us for Imagine Your Story, our annual Summer Reading program, starting on Saturday, June 1st. Summer is a great time to read what you like, to learn new things, and have fun. Discover the different challenges and activities for kids, teens and adults on our website.
Our Youth Services Librarians share details about the Summer Reading Program for Birth-5th grade, including online programs and activities.
Our Teen Library Council share information on Summer Reading for Teens and Tweens. Learn how to track your reading and participate in our goal to donate $1,000 to the Oregon Food Bank by reading books!

Meet Your Library Staff

Mark is a Teen Services Librarian at Cedar Mill Library. He answers questions, helps people, works with teens, plans events for them and orders young adult books and graphic novels.

What’s the best thing about his job? “Getting to work with our teen council is the highlight."

Find out what accomplishment he's most proud of and what he's been working on at home during quarantine on our website.

YOUR DIGITAL LIBRARY
Create at Home

This series has been created for you to find inspiration and tap into your own creativity. These videos demonstrate the creative process, using different mediums, and are accompanied by valuable tips and resources. Come doodle, draw, paint and color with us.
Connecting Children with Nature

“Before we ever put a pencil in a child’s hands, those hands should dig, climb, press, pull, squish, twist and pinch in a wide array of environments and with a variety of materials” - Amanda Morgan, Not Just Cute. This is the way children learn, using all of their senses while exploring their world. Try a simple nature scavenger hunt or our other ideas for connecting with nature.
Sustaining Remote Book Groups

As we continue to stay home, it is important to maintain social connections and support positive mental stimulation. Reading groups and book clubs bring a social element to the solitary hobby of reading. With our libraries closed and borrowing limited to ebooks and downloadable audiobooks, it can be challenging to support a book group needing multiple copies. Until we reopen, we want to offer a few ideas on how to support a remote book club.
