Thanks to Vet Dogs!
About this time last year we created this 2011 Calendar for The Guide Dog Foundation. A great organization serving veterans through their sister group, America's Vet Dogs. Click on the image below and learn more how you can help as well as see some great photos.

Guide Dog Calendar

We were pleased to do this pro-bono last year. Even though 2011 is almost history, if you click on the image to review the calendar, you may also download the PDF.

Do Just One Thing
Today, make that 1 phone call, send that 1 email to say "thanks" to a veteran you know. It only takes a second and I know it will be appreciated.
Thank You!

Today we celebrate the sacrifices and courage of those who have and do serve our country. Without their efforts, I could not be writing you and you could not be reading right now.

I was never in the military ... the closest I came was "playing army" when I was kid. Respect and awe is what I always felt for those who have ... like my Uncle Jim, my mom's brother. He was in the Army Corps of Engineers and was in charge of building roads, bridges, and other infrastructure projects in Vietnam.

He had some great stories and I was always spell bound ... he passed away due to cancer (agent orange) when I was in high school. For him, all my umpire buddies, business collegues, and friends who have served or still do to protect our freedom ... Thank You!

It is the soldier, not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet,

Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the organizer,

Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier,

Who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,

Who allows the protestor to burn the flag.

Invisible Wound

Invisible Wound was created by Warriors, for Warriors as a means of advocacy, networking and establishing a sense of community. Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD), affects not only the Warrior, but those that love them as well. The concept behind this community is simple. Reach out to Veterans, and help Veterans reach out to others.

This organization has a huge heart and purpose. In my networking activities I became acquainted with them and truly admire what they do. Please pass their information to a veteran that may benefit from their services.
