Dear Dixon Families,

I want to review with everyone the new way Final Report Cards will be distributed this year.

Final Report cards will be emailed to the primary email address you have on file with the school on Friday, May 29th.  While ISL may have multiple emails listed for your family, one for parent 1, another for parent 2, etc. only one email has been selected by you to be the primary email.  It is this email that will receive the report card pdf.

The email will look like this

Once you click on the link [Student Report Card. Pdf]  you will be asked for a password.

The password will be your child’s birth date, written as month/date/year.  For example: 05/20/2007.

Family Liaisons will sent a test email on Wednesday, May 27th.  Please check your email on May 27th to make sure you received this email. If you do not receive this email please check your spam folder and uncheck the email so your email service knows this is NOT spam.

The Report Card download will only be available for 30 days after receipt, so it is important that you download this document or print it for your records.

International Car Parade
May 29th, 2020
10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Join us as we celebrate the end of the school year at the lSL-Dixon International Car Parade. The parade will begin on Peach St. (entering from Airline Highway) and end on Peach St. Please see the map below for the complete route.

Show your international spirit by decorating your car with your child’s class’ country of focus.
Example: balloons, flags, streamers
Students may dress up to represent their country of focus.
*Please remain in your car at all times.

Guidelines for our International Car Parade

  • WE ARE EXCITED TO SEE YOU!

    • Feel free to decorate your car and make signs to show your teacher some extra appreciation. However, this is not necessary. It is our goal to be able to wave to our students and wish them a good summer- gifts and other decorations are not necessary. Your presence is our gift.

  • DON’T STOP.

    • Drivers are asked to proceed with caution and at a slow speed. However, please do not stop during the route of the parade, as we need to accomodate all families and will be limited on time and space around the campus.

  • REMAIN IN THE VEHICLE.

    • Families must remain in the car for the duration of the parade. Spectators along the route (on sidewalks or the street) are not allowed. This is in accordance with city/health guidelines in regards to gathering in a public space and social distancing.

  • STAFF ALONG THE ROUTE:

    • ISL staff will remain at their assigned spot along the route and have been instructed to not approach the vehicles.

  • NO MEETINGS:

    • Parent/Teacher meetings will not be conducted during this time. To schedule a time to meet with an ISL staff member, please email your classroom teacher or administrator to confirm a meeting time.

  • NO BUILDING ACCESS:

    • On the day of the parade, access to the building will be limited to authorized ISL personnel, only.

We are looking forward to wishing you a good summer in-person and wishing you farewell for this school year.

We hope to see you all there!

Children's Hospital Resources
  • Talking to your own children about COVID
Being a parent working during the COVID-19 pandemic can be challenging. Learn how to support and talk to your kids about everything with these helpful resources.
  • Anxiety in kids?
Anxiety is running high for everyone right now, including our kids.  Please check out this article on childhood anxiety.

  • Virtual Care
Our vastly expanded virtual care platform has allowed many more patients to receive the same expert pediatric specialty care in the safety of their own homes.  In addition, we are offering virtual care visits for mental and behavioral concerns. This time has allowed us to consider how we can improve access to our patients even after COVID-19 and are excited to continue to offer virtual care when a trip to New Orleans or one of our outreach clinics may not be necessary.  The pediatric psychologists are available to treat COVID-19 related mental health concerns or other general concerns like anxiety, changes in mood and behavior problems during these consultative, short-term visits.

Our pediatric specialists are continuing to see patients who meet the criteria for an in-person visit.  For those conditions and concerns that can be addressed through a virtual visit (video or telephone), we are offering those options.  Please contact our Concierge Scheduling Department with any scheduling needs (phone - 504.894.6778 or fax – 504.896.2704) and our staff will help schedule the most appropriate appointment for your patients.
