STARTING MONDAY, JUNE 1
Bulk Item Collection Resumes
Starting Monday, June 1, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) will be resuming the collection of bulk items. Remember that bulk items should be less than four feet wide and less than 50 pounds. If possible, place bulk items in a bag and all mattresses must be wrapped. No tires will be accepted. The cost of bulk item pickup is $10/yard, and you must contact LRS to schedule a bulk item pick-up at (773) 685-8811 before placing bulk items out for collection. In addition, LRS will also resume the collection of recycling materials that do not fit inside your regular recycling cart.
Following the cancellation of the Village's April Clean-Up Day in response to COVID-19, the Village has received a number of resident questions asking if another community Clean-Up Day will be scheduled before the fall Clean-Up Day on Saturday, October 17. No additional event has been scheduled at this time; however, the Village will alert the community should another event be possible. More information about Clean-Up Day can be found here.

STARTING AUGUST 2020
2020 Residential Water Meter Program
Beginning in August, the Village will begin its community-wide water meter replacement program to address this component of Glencoe’s aging water infrastructure. As a Glencoe water customer, it is important to understand every home in Glencoe is required to participate in this program and that installation of the new meter will require temporary access to your home or business, as nearly all water meters are located indoors.
In recognition that some in the community that may have concerns with this program, the Village is working closely with its contractors and will ensure all appropriate COVID-19 safety precautions are implemented to protect residents’ health and safety. These precautions will be in place throughout the entire replacement process.
Additional information will be provided as the project start date approaches, but preliminary project information may be found on the Village's website.
