Joan is on Study Leave this week. Doug Martindale will be leading our ZOOM worship this Sunday May 24. Thank you, Doug!

The Pastoral Care Team hopes you are doing well these days and find things to smile about every day. Below is a cheery little tune for you to enjoy.

ZOOM has become a much used technology here at Winfield United to connect not only on Sundays but more and more throughout the week as well. I understand that technology comes also with a lot of frustrations. If you find yourself not being able to connect, receive error messages, or waiting in limbo for "the host to start the meeting," or wondering why "the host has another meeting in progress," don't hesitate to give me a quick call or preferably send a text message to 250-808-7831. I try my best to help.

The Thrift Store coordinators have been investigating how we could open and operate following the WorkSafeBC pandemic guidelines.
A decision and details will be made June 1st, depending on the current state of the pandemic and the comfort level of the available staff. We know we will have fewer volunteers for various reasons so would probably need to reduce hours and open fewer days.
We will need to isolate all donations for several days to ensure they are virus free.
We will be dealing with new cleaning protocols and customer spacing and are quite concerned that we could be overwhelmed with donations.
If we are able to pen we would ask that you only make drops during open hours and if you have more then 1 or 2 bags/boxes please phone ahead (250-766-3387) to ensure we can handle it on that day.
We would also ask that you be very selective with your donations. We have a small shop which will be further reduced as we remove some racks to improve customer spacing.
We recognize that we have a challenge ahead but must operate safely if we are to reopen.

Generosity is a spiritual practice that enables us to be part of something bigger than ourselves. By sharing our gifts with Winfield United and the United Church of Canada's Mission and Service fund, we help meet the needs of our community and beyond. During this time of closure, offerings can be mailed or e-transferred to the church office:
