Arapahoe County Cares Arapahoe County unveils CARES Act relief plan 
 The Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners has approved a resolution authorizing distribution of the approximately $114.5 million the County received from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The funds will be used to bolster our communities’ recovery from the COVID public health crisis, and County officials will monitor and distribute them with a commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency. 
 
CARES Act money from the Coronavirus Relief Fund will help advance the Arapahoe County Response & Recovery Plan, which is designed to facilitate a full recovery of the County from COVID-19 by balancing health, safety and economic considerations.  - Read Full Article -

They also provide regular updates about new developments.

Reopening
County facilities begin reopening to the public

On May 18, Arapahoe County welcomed residents back to some buildings and facilities, with numerous health and safety measures in place. County facilities had been closed to the public since late-March, during which time most employees have been working remotely.
 
This phased reopening plan will continue over the next few weeks, but residents should note that most essential services are available online, and in-person visits are by appointment only. For more information about the health and safety precautions and restrictions and details about which facilities are open, visit our website.

Arapahoe County Fair
The 2020 Arapahoe County Fair has been canceled; virtual 4-H details being discussed
 
After weighing all economic and public health and safety considerations, the Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners has decided to cancel the 2020 Arapahoe County Fair that had been scheduled for July 23-26. The County is finalizing details of hosting a limited 4-H competition and conducting a virtual junior livestock auction. The Arapahoe County Fair is one of many events across Colorado that have been canceled, postponed or moved to virtual settings in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis. - Read Full Article - 

Public Works Week
Arapahoe County PWD celebrates National Public Works week

At a time when a lot of other work is on hold, our “road and bridge” crews are still at it. This takes on special meaning this week, the 60th annual National Public Works Week. This year’s theme is “the Rhythm of Public Works,” the symphony of essential services that work in concert to create a great place to live.- Read Full Article -
