WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE SPA CITY FARMERS'MARKET?
Wishing you a beautiful Memorial Day Weekend. In honor of all the veterans as well as active service members. Thank you for all you do. We will never forget.
Grillin' & Chillin'
We have everything you need for your Memorial Day cookout.
Ready To Start Your Garden?
They say after Mother's Day, it is safe to start planting! Weather you plant a vegetable garden, an herb garden, or a flower garden the benefits are great. Be sure to include the kids. Gardening is great exercise, it gets you outside in the fresh air and the best part is reaping what you sow.
This week come and get all your garden starts. Our farms have everything you need to begin: veggies, herbs, flowers, & all kinds of native plants. If you have any questions, our farmers are the master growers and they will be happy to give you some valuable advice.
SUMMER MARKET May - October
The Spa City Farmers' Market will be open this Sunday, May 17th from 10am till 2pm.
We will be located OUTSIDE on our market field
We now have a new set of guidelines that we will follow on market day.
Please wear a mask, if you are not able to social distance at the market. Thank you.
- Providing hand sanitizer for public use on our tables.
- Ceasing food sampling at the market
- We are requiring that all hot food be served to go; Eliminating self-service options
- We will be setting up all booths with additional spacing 6 feet in between each tent.
- We are encouraging pre-bagging
- We will be posting prominent signage that encourage shoppers and vendors to practice social distancing of 6 feet from each other
- Vendors handling money and other currencies, will wear gloves or use frequent hand sanitation in between each transaction.
- All vendors will increase the frequency that they disinfect their market surfaces/objects
- We are ceasing all non-essential activities in the market- Our Easter Egg Hunt Event is cancelled, and our musicians that are scheduled to perform, will be rescheduled for a later date.
This is directed to you, our valued customers:
As we modify market operations for public safety, we ask that customers please join us in helping to reduce the risk of spreading the virus by:
- Adhering to 6-foot social distancing while in the farmers’ market. Give space to those around you, at least 6 feet while shopping and waiting in line.
- Observing posted signage and customers should wait, six feet apart, to order and pay for their products.
- Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be used.
- We will have hand sanitizer available at each booth.
- Those who are high-risk (elderly and people with underlying health conditions) avoid coming to the market. Help your neighbors who need to remain indoors, by offering to pick up food and supplies at the market for them.
- As always, wash fruits and veggies when you return home.
Cough or sneeze into your arm or a tissue, away from people and food.
- Always stay home if you are sick
Why Join a CSA ?
There are a lot of reasons to join a CSA and buy a share in one of our farm's harvest. Some folks join for the amazingly fresh food. Some people enjoy the connection to a specific farm and farmer. Others just want to support their local food system and are looking for a simple one-stop way to do so. Talk to our farmers on Sunday and see what type of CSA options would work for you!

BUY LOCAL:
There many tangible and intangible benefits associated with buying local products in your community. Spending your money on locally produced goods and services keeps the community economically viable. Just like the unique character of each CSA farm, economies also benefit from the local flavor of these small businesses. Buying local conserves natural resources, reliance on fossil fuels is greatly reduced due to less shipping requirements. CSA farms do their part to protect the environment, most of these operations incorporate organic or natural methods that work in harmony with nature.
