COVID-19 Relief Projects by Ekam
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Ekam has not been staying home!
Ekam has been busy at work, with volunteers and staff doing numerous projects in India and USA to help those in need.
All Ekam chapters in USA and all our Ekam Youth Ambassadors have stepped up to serve the community.
In this newsletter, we are summarizing some of our projects and initiatives related to COVID-19. Your support and guidance is what enables Ekam to provide hope and relief to the needy.

Food Donation by Ekam in India
Daily wage workers, the elderly, and the disabled have been hit hard by the pandemic leaving many without access to food or work.
Ekam identified 5-10 families and homeless/elderly in each district of Tamil Nadu, and through the help of funds raised thru its donor community and by volunteers, provided 1 month of provisions to them through its local team and network of volunteers.

PPE Equipment donated by Ekam in India
All the hospitals and health workers are in need of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as equipment for the care of newborn, children and pregnant women.
Ekam has been distributing
- PPE kits, N95 masks, ventilators, defibrillators, infant care supplies for ICU, etc.
- Worth up to 8 crore rupees ($1.2 Million approximately) with the support of local corporates
- 6 States of India - Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujarat
- 40 government hospitals, 1 Government Ware House, 7 Police stations supported with Medical Equipment/PPE

Our goal has been to help the most vulnerable- the elderly, homeless, or low-income families to meet their basic needs of food and health care.
