I can smell your energy.

Our virtual workplaces are not immune from the exchange of energy between colleagues.

The recent acceleration into a distributed workforce has catalyzed my contemplation of the unseen forces that create attitudes towards each other.

I've also been observing the traits of great teams during this crisis:
Trust.
Encouragement.
Inclusiveness.
Authenticity.
Momentum.

In the same way eating with our eyes closed heightens our sense of taste, working without physical proximity has heightened my sense of smell -- making it possible to get a whiff of a colleague's energy even before I notice its impact on the imperceptible filaments that build bonds.

Perhaps you've experienced it too.

See you on the blog...
Amy

(P.S. If you'd like to learn more about your energetic profile after reading this post, I'm offering the Energy Leadership Index assessment and a 75 minute debrief for $99 through June 30, 2020. Or, it's included free with any coaching package of 5 or 10 sessions. Email me if you'd like to get started or to learn more about how it works. Unfortunately, if you work at Citrix, I am unable to work with you in a coaching capacity at this time, but I do have some great coaches in my network and would be happy to make a referral.)

Find of the Week

Scribe Book School has released their entire workshop for free during the pandemic (15+ hours of content). It took me two months but I didn't give up -- I finally finished all of the lessons this morning. Free templates and instruction and all you'll need to start writing the book that is longing to see the light of day.

Note: Since I'm promoting this I feel the need to tell you to be forewarned: I had a hard time getting past the way Tucker Max treats his team and the arrogance with which he delivers his content, but he has a good program and I believe he genuinely wants to help authors get their book into the world.

So, this is exciting...

Since you read this blog, you already know that one of the things I love to talk about is the deep connection between personal wellbeing and leadership. Two years ago, I began offering mindfulness meditation sessions at work and those sessions have grown into a program that is serving employees in a way we never would have imagined during this pandemic. For one, we now offer daily, live meditations to serve our employee population. And, our little team was asked to provide resources as part of a Citrix public campaign about Remote Work. Check out short videos on what mindfulness is, building community, and avoiding burnout along with 15-20 mindfulness sessions with our facilitators. (These will be updated weekly). You'll hear from me in these segments: 'Meditation: Practice forgiveness' and the short video on 'Empowering Employees to Create Community.'
