HOME, NOT ALONE.
How 66 days of quarantine changed our lives.
I (Yulia) go on walks, with a few friends, in the mornings. This practice really helped keep a healthy perspective on daily life during quarantine. Everytime we meet we ask each other, “WHAT IS NEW?”, knowing very well that the most likely answer is - nothing. We all stay at home, take care of our family, help kids study, fellowship online, repeat. The truth, however, is that the last 66 days brought many new things into our lives and ministry.
We gained new appreciation for time together (on the picture: boys helping David pull out our dead tree), walking more often we gained new appreciation for God’s beauty around us.
We are working on new skills -our boys are making progress in learning how to cook and pretty much mastered the online learning.
We steward new opportunities -these days there are more people online than ever. Various projects connecting with students, teachers, professionals took off in various countries. We directly contributed to several of them. To combat looming depression in Albania where people were locked down in their apartments and had to obtain government permission to leave premises for only an hour a day, our team created 30 days of Scripture based devotionals which focused on God’s promises and His unchanging nature. We are now working on a series of short teaching sessions which fathers could use to teach their families the main Christian doctrines while still cut off from church fellowship and teaching. Our desire is for the people who are found in the midst of the storm to find their anchor in the Word of God.
