There are loads of webinars being offered, but these have been some of the most productive and useful sessions I’ve attended to date.  Thanks again for partnering in such a powerful way, helping equip business owners to thrive in the time of COVID."   Ellen Covey, Financial Advisor, Elevate Financial Services

Bow Valley Starts To Welcome Back Visitors
Thank you to all of the Bow Valley for these past weeks of commitment to flattening the curve and helping the community get through this critical time. As June approaches, some places in the National Park will open up to vehicular traffic, and we are ready to start slowly welcoming visitors back. More businesses are opening their doors daily across the Bow Valley, with a focus on welcoming customers back safely.

Top welcome back messages being shared today and through next week to Albertans are the following:
  1. Welcome back. Whether you’re looking for adventure, solitude, a new perspective, or a new view, the Bow Valley is where you’ll find it.
  2. It’s important to know before you go. Plan ahead.
  3. Health and safety of people is the number one priority.
  4. Explore responsibly.

The completed template must be posted in your place of business or online within 7 days of the public being able to attend your business. The following template includes considerations to help guide you as you plan to open your business. This should be completed using Alberta Health’s Workplace Guidance for Business Owners, sector-specific guidelines, and any additional requirements your business or industry association provides. Commercial Tennacny Support Feedback Survey

Tenants and landlords can fill out a survey via alberta.ca to help gauge any challenges they may be experiencing while working together to develop a payment schedule, paying their rent, or meeting other financial obligations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Survey results will give government further insight into the types of issues businesses and landlords are experiencing and whether they have been able to access available supports. These insights will aid in determining whether additional measures are needed to support businesses struggling to pay rent during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Federal Government of Canada

To help Canadians and Canadian businesses navigate the number of COVID-19 programs available, the government has developed two tools; one for individuals and one for businesses. They allow users to quickly find programs they may qualify for by answering a few simple questions.

Proposed Paid Sick Days
In light of COVID-19, the federal government announced its intention to work with the provinces to give employees 10 sick days per year. RCC will work with our members and officials to ensure that retailers and other businesses will not be saddled with further costs, but rather that there will be reforms to Employment Insurance to help employees who need it.

CECRA - Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance

Blake Richards , M.P On Tourism Week
"Unfortunately, this year's Tourism Week is not a time of celebration for the industry - it is a time of survival. The Prime Minister announced that sector-oriented support would be coming for the nearly crippled industry. That was over a month ago, and there is still no support. As the weather warms up, many seasonal businesses who would have otherwise been opened are taking massive losses. This means support is vital."
