BUSHFIRE RECOVERY UPDATE

We're checking in with our bushfire affected community by phone and email

Wingecarribee Shire Council, in conjunction with Service NSW and the newly created state government agency Resilience NSW (formerly Office of Emergency Management), will soon be contacting bushfire affected residents.

We want to hear how your recovery efforts are proceeding and learn what can be done to help you in the months ahead. As well as check that you’re accessing and using all the services and resources available.

Information provided by residents will be used to help prioritise needs and community decisions.

We know that no two circumstances are identical. But our goal is to ensure that we better understand and where possible help overcome any obstacles that may be hindering recovery journeys.

Participation in the survey is voluntary and will initially be offered via email but if you would prefer to speak to someone in person, we’ll also have staff available to ask the questions over the phone. Keep an eye out for the special email invitation.

Changed your contact details?

If your property was damaged or destroyed and believe that Council does not have up-to-date contact details for you, please send an email to mail@wsc.nsw.gov.au or call Council’s dedicated Bush Fire Recovery Hotline on 1800 316 500.

NSW bushfire clean-up continues

The NSW Government and the Commonwealth are covering the full cost of cleaning up eligible properties that have been destroyed by bushfires.

Public Works Advisory (PWA) has appointed Laing O’Rourke Australia to lead the clean-up. They'll be engaging qualified local contractors and local suppliers where possible, to maximise local knowledge and expertise, and assist the economic recovery of the communities.

For the latest information on Laing O'Rourke's schedule visit their NSW Bushfire clean-up information hub or call 1800 007 539.

Both insured and uninsured properties used for residential, small business or primary production purposes are eligible for the clean-up program.

Registration for the clean-up is done via Service NSW.
