Memorial Day weekend!
5 Ways To Get Your Business To Run Without You - W5 Business Coaching

I had a not particularly brilliant insight this weekend that, in 2020, we have actually spent more time in COVID-19-sheltering-in-place normal than we did in pre-COVID-19-normal. Gratitude and anxiety and knowing and not knowing all hang out together in our brains, and we are sort of getting used to that. As we plan for and tiptoe into the new normal, take a few seconds at the beginning of each workday to remind yourself that everyone's COVID-19-at-home experience has been really different. The new normal will bring with it new ways of thinking about inclusion, and empathy for how others may have experienced the past few weeks very differently from you is the first step in ensuring that inclusion is a guiding force in understanding the shaping of the new normal.
As we continue to work from home and kinda sorta start transitioning to work (whatever that looks like!), we will continue to brainstorm ways to help you stay emotionally connected, intellectually fed, and empathetically aware.

Our ongoing Wellness Wednesday Webinars provide anyone interested in wellness and inclusion with a virtual space to process the new normals, learn new mindfulness practices, and take a break from the chaos we are all expected to manage these days. (We are doing our 9th one this Wednesday!)

UPCOMING
WEDNESDAY WELLNESS WEBINARS

Please register at your earliest convenience and feel free to invite anyone you think would benefit from these webinars. Based on the demand thus far, we have opened the number of spots to 500 so we don't anticipate running out of space as we did before. That said, please do register as soon as possible so we can better manage the audience size expectations.  Thank you!

The date for June's discussion is scheduled for Friday, June 26th, from 1:00 - 2:00pm CDT. Our June selection for the Nextions Book Club is Surrounded By Idiots: The Four Types of Human Behavior and How to Effectively Communicate With Each in Business (and in Life) by Thomas Erikson. If you are interested in participating, please email nora@nextions.com for details! (Disclaimer: The book isn't actually about idiots. It's about how to communicate with different types of people.)

You can purchase a copy of the book here.
Nextions is not affiliated with this author or the book in any way.
We selected the book in response to your thoughts and suggestions.

Women are told more lies than men in workplace reviews, new research suggests. And that can prevent gender equality.
By Leah Asmelash, CNN Updated 1:05 AM ET, Mon May 25, 2020

So, what do you do when this article pops up on your CNN news feed? First, you exhale deeply. Then, you shake your head and dive in to realize that women are indeed lied to more frequently in workplaces than men are. We started studying this phenomenon in 2015, and my latest book, Smarter Than A Lie: Winning Against Liars Without Losing Your Mind was published in August 2019. It's a deep dive into why people lie at work, who they lie to, how lies hurt inclusion, and what you can do if you are the one being lied to or lied about.
