With Monday's announcement by the New Zealand Government that an increase in gatherings, from ten (10) to one hundred (100), will begin this Friday 29th May, we are happy to announce The Hangout Youth Centre will be resuming regular operations from Tuesday 2nd June - with our opening time beginning at 3pm and closing at 5:30pm.

Bookings will no longer be required, as well as, no specific time slots.

It is still very important for our team to ensure our space is safe and clean. So this means we will continue to require proper hygiene (i.e. washing hands, sanitising hands, etc.) of all who enter, youth and youth workers, as well as signing into our centre on entry.

You will find below an infographic that contains important details of what exactly these updates, during Level 2, looks like for CYT.
Office Hours
Our office, located at 5A Murray Terrace, has been back in operation these past few weeks with Rhys, Eden & Allie so excited to be back!

Our office hours are back to our regular 10am - 6pm times.

Youth Development Programmes (YDPs)
Our YDPs that were suspended, due to COVID-19, will still be on hold until we drop down to Level 1 - which the Government announced will be, at the latest, June 22nd. This means we are planning to restart as soon as possible.

This includes our 'Get Your Music On', 'Brew like a Barista' and 'Indoor Skydiving'. Future YDPs are in development but will not be implemented until, the earliest, Term 3.

Holiday Programmes
We absolutely love our Holiday Programmes and we are so excited to let you know we are currently locking in an exciting and adventurous Winter Holiday Programme that will be affordable and offer a variety of activities.

Mentoring
1-on-1 mentoring has resumed and takes place at The Hangout Youth Centre during the day.

Youth Workers in Schools
Our Youth Workers will be slowly integrating back into lunch time visits beginning Tuesday 2nd June and will be ensuring we follow the guidelines set by Cromwell College.
Do we need to book spots?
From Tuesday 2nd June we will not be requiring youth to book a spot to attend The Hangout Youth Centre - we will be resuming our regular drop-in sessions.

Do you have a total number of youth per session?
To continue ensuring we have a safe space for our youth we will be ensuring numbers inside, at one time, do not exceed twenty five (25) youth.

Can my child arrive at any time?
The Hangout Youth Centre will be opened from 3pm until 5:30pm and will operate as a drop-in - this means youth can come and go as they please. This could be for a few minutes or a couple hours.
