GSCORE is providing communities and businesses with a helping hand
as we start on the road to recovery from COVID-19.

Tourism Recovery Marketing Program

COVID-19 has impacted our tourism industry at unprecedented levels. However, as our state continues to report zero cases and life begins to return to a new normal, the State Government through Tourism WA has provided a support grant to assist tourism businesses to restart and recover. The announcement of regional border relaxations presents a unique window of opportunity for tourism businesses in the Great Southern to capitalise on a restricted destination competition, whilst destination marketing spend is specifically focused on domestic travel.

To assist Great Southern tourism operators to pivot their operations and respond to the easing of restrictions, we have developed a comprehensive Recovery Marketing Program. The Program is designed to assist businesses to kickstart quickly and capture Perth visitors quickly, whilst preparing for the interstate borders to open in coming months. The program contains four components:

1. Tourism Health Check

Our program will commence with a Tourism Health Check which includes a review of:

  • COVID-19 response
  • Product adaptation
  • Your competitive edge
  • Google & Social Analytics
  • Website optimisation

2. Local Marketing Plan

The responses from your Tourism Health Check will be assessed to provide you with a local marketing plan which will include one-on-one specific assistance. You will receive up to 8 hours business support with an expert mentor from Distinctly Tourism Management. Topics covered include:

  • Post COVID-19 Consumer Profiling
  • Digital Content and Keyword Tips
  • Social Content Planning
  • SEO & Pay Per Click Advertising
  • Brochures and Local Distribution

3. Connecting with your Ideal Customer Workshops

Using the insights from your local marketing plan, you will begin to review and refine your product offering by focusing on the unique needs of the intrastate market. Over the course of 3 x 1 hour workshop sessions, you will develop detailed customer personas for your ideal market segments.

4. TWA Recovery Grant Application Assistance

For those businesses that require support, we will be on hand to assist you to complete your TWA Business Recovery Grant application.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the entire Recovery Marketing Package – which includes the Tourism Business Health Check Diagnostic, one-on-one mentoring in preparing a local marketing plan, review of funding application and guidance in adapting tourism products to suit the post-COVID economic landscape – is $350+GST.

We know that you need assistance NOW, so for those businesses that are eligible AND apply for the $6,500 Tourism WA Recovery Fund, the fee is only payable on successful receipt of the grant funding. That means there is no risk to you – if your grant application is unsuccessful, you won’t be charged. Those businesses that are not eligible for the TWA Recovery Fund can still participate but will be required to pay upfront.

Places are limited. Applications are now OPEN - visit our information page to find out more and download an application form. For more information on the Recovery Marketing Fund, please email GSCORE Training Coordinator Wendy Triplett.
