Newsletter of May 2020

Our most important month of the year so far: we have finally revealed the Apex-RS, our new third generation electric superbike! We are very proud of the result and delighted with all the positive reactions to the bike and the online reveal we got! This was of course not how we imagined it to be when we started in September 2019 but all the lovely responses by everybody still made it a very special experience. Thank you for that! Now on to testing and hopefully racing later this year.

A word from our Chief Chassis

After a great online reveal testing on our superbike has finally begun! Since the chassis team has focused its attention to testing all the components in the bike itself, the motorcycle first had be disassembled in order to test things more smoothly. Testing consists mostly out of our electro motor, gear box, cooling and even some electrical components which we can help with.

Like always, we have another goal for next month: To fully test the capabilities of the electro motor at a dyno. A dyno is essentially where we strap the motorcycle in on 2 roller platforms so that we can ride the motorcycle while staying at one spot. We are really excited for this milestone. Not only does it give us the opportunity to see the power of the superbike, also tuning of any electronics comes into play. Optimizing the motor with this kind of testing is essential if we want to win races!

Their main goal is to safely deliver enrichment technology services to their customers. ETC’s vision and urge to use high-tech solutions to critically reduce CO2 emissions suits us very well!

A word from our Chief Powertrain

We really enjoyed our reveal and we had a lot of great responses which gave us a boost to perform even better the upcoming months. In the near future we will be able to share more pictures of the electronics to show you what we are working on this year since those were less highlighted during the reveal.

The past month the powertrain was mainly busy finishing all of the modules of the battery pack, making the wiring harness, testing the PCBs that we received from Prodrive Technologies and testing the motor controller. Next month we have a dyno test at Ten Kate Racing Products so we are now busy with testing all the interactions between the electronics such that we can have a successful dyno test.
