IN THIS NEWSLETTER:

I know I say this nearly every newsletter, but where has the time gone? Like, how is it the end of May already? I hope the past month has been kind to you all. For me, it's been a bit of a blur.

I've been writing a lot. The City Without End (To See the Sun #2) is 40% drafted. That's... nearly half a book! Of course, I have a long way to go yet. I need to finish this draft and then revise it about a million times before I send it to my editor. But nearly half a book ain't nothing, right?

I also finished revising Let's Connect (link to the first chapter below!) and got that off to the copy editor. I'm thrilled with how this story turned out and can't wait for you all to read it. Not sure if I mentioned it last month, but Natasha Snow will be doing a cover for it in August, just in time for me to put the full novella up on KU for those of you who'd like to read it again or buy a copy to keep.

I've also started outlining the second book in the same universe as Sundays with Oliver, which probably doesn't mean a lot to you right now as you know next to nothing about the series. I'll just say I'm super excited about book two because I finally get to write a character I've been playing with for years. I think you're all going to love him.

What else? I've been busy learning how to Zoom so I can participate in the virtual versions of many of the events that were canceled this year. The first of these is an online panel discussing LGBTQIA+ Representation in Romance! Join me, Jenn Burke, Keira Andrews, J. Leigh Bailey, and others on Saturday, May 30th at 3 p.m. EST.

NEW RELEASES

Unter heiterem Himmel is out! That's Out in the Blue in German, or Under a Clear Sky. A lot of other authors have been having difficulties with wait times as they upload and release new books, so I expected this to take longer. Yeah, no. I uploaded the book one day, and it was live and selling like crazy the next. Germany seems to love Jared and Fin! If you'd like to read their story in German, you can find it here. (The German edition is also available at Amazon worldwide.)

When Was the Last Time is with my translator. News on when that will be released as I have it.

Building Forever is coming to audio! Yay! After two false starts, our patience has been rewarded with the awesome narrator, Austin Jay. He has a great voice and I think you're going to love his take on Charlie, Simon, and the rest of the gang. Even better, we've contracted Austin to record the whole series! I can't wait to listen to all the books. Building Forever is complete and we're waiting for Audible to do their thing, so it could be available any day now.

Want to win an audio code for it? Join my reader group! Since when did I have a reader group? Um, since now. Read on for details!

I've toyed with the idea of starting a reader group forever. What has always held me back is the idea I might not have enough to say. I belong to several author groups on Facebook and I'm in awe of how they engage their members. I have no idea how they keep up. But with this plague situation, I find myself wanting to connect more frequently with people. Especially you, my readers. Also, I'm really excited about Let's Connect, which is the first new thing I've published in over a year. I want to talk about it with you all. Hear your impressions as each chapter releases.

I'd also like a place where I can do more frequent giveaways (such as audio codes!), share snippets of what I'm working on, more up to date publishing news, host guests, and simply chat.

So, I now have a reader group and I'd really love to see you there. As a bonus for joining, members will get to read the second chapter of Let's Connect this week instead of next week.

LET'S CONNECT

A year after his divorce, Daniel Stroman has decided that he's too young to die—or fuse permanently with his couch. But when downloads the dating app "Let's Connect" and starts dating, his success/fail ratio isn't encouraging... until he gets a connection request from Robin.

Everything about Robin's profile is different, from the bright little bird he's using as an avatar to the long and thoughtful answers he's written for the standard questions. He's witty, funny, and easy to talk to. Robin could be his perfect match. But Robin is holding something back.

Then again, so is Dan.

WHAT I'VE BEEN READING

The April challenge for #WritersRead was a banned book. I chose Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan. It's a curious book, both heavy and light, and one I highly recommend. Rather than being banned, I believe it should be on every reading list. I also read a number of other outstanding books in April.

You can read my thoughts on all of them on my blog.

That's May! Don't forget to check your inbox for chapter two of Let's Connect early next week. As a reminder, if you'd like to read it early, you can join my reader group. Next month, I'll be talking about my current WIP, The City Without End

Until then, happy reading!

Kelly
