#WCPD100HoursOutside SUMMER CHALLENGE! Our Challenge kicked off this week, so start having your kids log the time they spend outdoors so they can earn cool prizes. Remember, ANY time outside counts! Every child who completes the challenge will receive a prize AND will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize. Print a tracking sheet HERE.
THIS WEEK'S THEME IS SEEDS!Follow us on Facebook for daily activities, cool crafts, and fun facts about this weekly topic. These are things you can do on your own time in one of the Warren County Park District locations or in your own backyard.
WARREN COUNTY SUMMER BIOBLITZ!Join the Warren County Nature BioBlitz, a fun citizen science project that helps you identify the plants and animals around you with the iNaturalist app. A great activity for adults and children alike, record and share your observations, and you will contribute research-quality data for professional scientists. For more info, visit https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/warren-county-nature-bioblitz or download instructions here.
VOLUNTEERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE!Local students and their parents have logged over 100 volunteer hours this spring. The WCPD offers community service opportunities that meet high school graduation requirements. By picking up garbage and branches in the parks, our helpers are making it a nicer experience for other visitors and are freeing up the park staff to concentrate on other important tasks. For more info, click here.
Please continue to follow proper social distancing and hygiene practices when in the parks!
Our programs' success is because of our wonderful supporters, including Friends of the WCPD, Park Staff and Commissioners, local nature professionals, and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists.
There are many ways you can become involved!
