New Funding Available for the Creation of Community-Based Permanent Supportive Housing
May 15, 2020
The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) is now accepting applications under its Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Development Program to subsidize developments serving special needs and/or otherwise vulnerable populations, persons with disabilities, and/or those who need reduced barriers to housing because they are ex-offenders or transition-aged youth.
Eligible developments will generally have 40 or fewer units and must commit at least 10% of the units for referrals through the Statewide Referral Network. A project concept meeting and approval of a Preliminary Project Assessment are required prior to submitting an application. Funding will be awarded to the highest scoring applications.
Mandatory application workshops will be offered in September and October, either in-person and/or via an online platform.
We encourage all eligible sponsors to consider this opportunity. See the Request for Applications on IHDA's Developer Resource Center for more details.
Questions and requests for project concept meetings should be directed to pshrfa@ihda.org.
Preliminary Project Assessments are due to IHDA by 5:00 p.m. on August 14, 2020.
Applications are due to IHDA by 5:00 p.m. on October 30, 2020.
