Trying to think of “some good news” to share on the SF tech layoff front. Not that easy to do, but we’re going to try anyway.
It seems layoff activity has slowed down somewhat from the previous couple of months, at least in terms of number of layoffs. And at least one CEO -- at Airbnb -- seems to have gotten most everything right from a culture perspective (analysis below).
But given such a contraction in the job market and a virtual moratorium on office visits for many SF tech companies of all shapes and sizes, new questions arise -- are we seeing a sudden shift from SF to remote? What’s the “new normal” going to look like? And when is it coming?
