Tarot Card of the Month ~ The Fool
For those who are reading this newsletter for the first time, every month I discuss the tarot card that has appeared the most in the month's tarot readings. Even though the cards will always have individual significance, a commonly occurring card can also have a say about what's going on for the whole community.
I haven't been surprised to see The Fool landing on my tarot table again and again this month. As lockdown restrictions start to lift, it is very much a Fool time as we step into the next stage of the process. Will there be a second wave of COVID-19? Will we stay safe and healthy? Traditionally, the Fool doesn't think too much: as the first tarot card off the rank, they are there to start the next part of the story, and then after the Fool takes that first step, we see what happens next.
This time we are having with the Fool could be experienced in several different ways. Are we needing a bit of 'beginners mind' in order to break through any fear of re-socialisation? Do we need to become more curious about how ongoing changes might require us to imagine a new way of being? Isn't it time for a new approach? Can we move forward without letting past experiences define our outlook on life?
Are we able to approach a new day as if we aren't fatigued and over it? Or is being jaded what keeps us grounded and more realistic? Keep in mind though, that at the moment of decision, the Fool forgets everything that came before and is totally present. In that new moment, new worlds can open.
Now to hear from four Fool cards from my personal tarot collection:
The Fledgling from the Slow Holler Tarot Deck says, "Prepare well, just in case the journey is longer than expected. Focus your attention on what is in front of you and let those details inform you, rather than other people's desires."
The Fool from Tarot 22 says, "If you're nervous about stepping out into the unknown, just remember that deep down everyone is a bit weird, and the sooner you embrace that the more confident you will feel."
The Fool from the Kali Tarot Prayer Cards says, "The journey may be long and full of unknowns, and at times you may even lose faith in humanity. But make sure you at least maintain faith in yourself and your own endurance. Seek a new way of living that welcomes your heart rather than destroying it."
The Fool from Women of Science Tarot says, "You gotta start somewhere, and it may as well be here. The outcome isn't what's important, it's the experience of being alive. New beginnings can be shocking, but can also inspire you to be full of wonder at the opportunity that beckons."
Until next month,
Best wishes,
Sarah Barry (Psychic Sarah)
P.S Want more tarot stories? I post a Tarot Reading for the Collective on my website every month. This month I used the Tarot of the World in Colours by Eugene Vinitski.
This month's questions are:
Where do we need to hold our ground?
What have we done well?
What needs closer attention?
What can we feel quietly confident about?
Read on for the responses, and please let me know how you experienced this reading - I appreciate the feedback.
[I usually post the Tarot Reading for the Collective in the first half of every month, sometimes later... but it does happen every month!]
