Hi all,

As we start moving into the early recovery period, it’s nice to note that our region is coming up as top pick for Adelaide people looking to get out into regions.

The SATC is keen to know who’s opening this week or when. The four councils have been compiling lists but of course it’s a big job as it’s been a moving feast. We’re keeping the SATC updated to the best of our knowledge.

FAQs
Getting detailed answers to the rules covering how operators can move into the recovery phase is a burning issue. The SATC’s regular Deloitte webinar last week brought forth a lot of questions over all kinds of topics. The SATC is prioritising getting FAQs our for tour operators and the accommodation sector. Watch this space. I’ll post key material as before on the relevant one of our four Facebook sites. As always these are worth joining as they can provide useful feedback from other operators on issues of concern to you.
I note that questions about events are starting to appear more frequently as organisers look forward. The events Facebook group is there as a tool for you to share issues.

The standard SA government FAQ sheet is updated from time to time. The last time was 13 May. It’s pretty general but checking it from time to time might be worthwhile: View here

Deloitte roadmap to recovery workbook
People attending the SATC’s Deloitte webinar were really interested in a workbook to help small businesses to plan where they are and where they want to go. I’ve had a look at it and it looks like a useful thing to use if you’re not sure how to structure your recovery planning. View it here

Product Assessment Survey
I’ve checked the survey in this SATC message below. It’s dead simple to fill in and might take you less than 3 minutes.

The SATC’s Destination Development team wants to hear from you! If you have a spare few minutes, please complete the survey to help the team better understand your business, your target markets, current circumstances and future vision – specifically in relation to working in the Tourism Distribution System. Through completing this survey our team will be able to provide a more fitting level of support to meet your requirements. The team will be working through responses and next steps over the coming months. Complete the survey here

COVID-19 impact on jobs and wages
There’s a tool now available to map big data on jobs and wages from 10,000,000 Australians during the recession. The jobs data is now being collected weekly via the Tax Office one touch payroll system and published fortnightly by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The map can be viewed here

Supporting Australia’s exhibiting zoos and aquariums program
The Federal government set up this funding scheme to assist zoos and aquariums which have particularly high costs of animal welfare. Nine South Australian enterprises were deemed eligible for the program and two are from the Victor Harbor area: Urimbirra Wildlife Park and Oceanic Victor. They still have to apply to the program but it’s good news and best wishes to them.

And here’s something many of you have been waiting for!
Quality Tourism Accredited businesses have access to the COVID Clean Practicing Business module in the Quality Tourism Framework dashboard. It’s free and is designed to provide customised checklists to support businesses in their effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and drive consumer confidence. Once completed, businesses will receive a tailored cleaning plan for immediate use.
