Hello Everyone, quick update of a Friday evening and perhaps weekend ideas and wishing you a lovely weekend. It is positive that more people are out and more workplaces can open, and there is also lots of conversations happening about we have learned the past weeks. It's an important time. This week is very special with Volunteer Week Cork and Cork LGBTI+ Awareness Week (the 1st as a member of the Rainbow Cities Network) and also Biodiversity week all celebrating together. They cross the 3 Pillars of the PPN and everyone involved deserves to be celebrated and credited for their huge contribution, recognising the amazing work that happens from the ground up and acknowledge that there is lots to do and lots of support needed as we move onwards and upwards.
We take this opportunity to salute and thank all our members, and your teams and supporters and all our partners from all sectors locally and nationally.

The Philanthropy Fund - ‘Innovate Together’ is a collaboration between Government, philanthropists and social innovations, focussing on supporting innovative responses to the Covid-19 crisis.
To be eligible to apply for this fund, your organisation must:
- be delivering front-line critical services in the Republic of Ireland, before the 1st January 2019. Twenty-Four (24) categories front-line critical services are eligible and include, Youth, Social Housing, Education, support for disadvantaged communities, Social Services, Family Support Services, etc
- have a projected loss in your 2020 fundraising income and/or traded income of 25% or more as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tuath Housing Community Covid 19 Emergency Fund - DEADLINE EXTENDED

A €250 million Restart Fund has been created nationally by the Minister for Business, Enterprise, and Innovation to help micro and small enterprises with the costs of reopening during Covid-19. Companies can apply to their local authority for a grant of an amount equivalent to no more than their 2019 rates bill. There will be a cap of €10,000. The grant can be used to pay ongoing fixed costs, for replenishing stock and for measures needed to ensure employee and customer safety.

- Have an annual turnover of less than €5 million and employ between 1 to 50 people
- Have closed or suffered a projected 25% or more loss in turnover to the end June 2020
- Commit to remain open or to reopen if it was closed
- Declare the intention to retaining employees that are on the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme and to reemploy staff on the COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment where applicable

The competition is open to any local or regional authority, or civil society organisation located in an EU Member State, EEA country or EU candidate or accession country that has endorsed the Basque Declaration. Awards include €10.000 to kick-start a Transformative Action in your city, region or municipality and a chance to showcase on the Sustainable Cities Platform
The actions taken are local or regional contributions to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement.
The 2020 Super Value Tidy Towns competition has been cancelled, however on 20 May, Minister Michael Ring TD, Minister for Rural and Community Development, confirmed that funding which he allocated to support the TidyTowns groups, will still be available to them, to assist with activities they might undertake as the COVID-19 restrictions are eased, or in preparing for the 2021 competition.”

Cork City Council seeks your views on pedestrianisation measures during Covid 19

The consultation forms part of a programme of measures being prepared by Cork City Council to facilitate the awakening of the local economy and to support both residents and the public in safely returning to work and commercial life in the city and town centres. With phase one of the re-opening of Cork underway since Monday 18 May, Cork City Council have temporarily pedestrianised the historic Marina riverside amenity and popular retail street Oliver Plunkett Street and have also been conducting a deep clean of the city centre and Glanmire, Blarney, Douglas and Ballincollig.
Submissions are invited from the public, stakeholders and interested parties on proposed temporary road closures.
