On behalf of the European Testing Week Working Group and Secretariat, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to all who participated, endorsed, supported and raised awareness on the importance of HIV, viral hepatitis and STI testing.
We understand that many of you within the ETW network were unable to participate in this year’s Spring ETW, but we still want to hear from you!
For this year, instead of the usual post-ETW survey, we want to know how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted your services. We welcome all of you (including those who didn’t participate in SETW 2020) to complete our very brief survey. The main aim of the survey is to assess how testing and testing-related services have been affected during the pandemic. The results will be presented in a report and help to plan for the November 2020 ETW.

This webinar presented case examples from Lithuania (Asociacija Demetra) and Italy (Arcigay/Lila Milano) where pilot activities were undertaken through the INTEGRATE JA (led by partners at Public Health England) to close the knowledge gaps to understand the HIV self-testing situation in both countries. These pilots implemented activities to assess awareness, usability, acceptability, availability and knowledge of self-tests and the findings will be presented in the webinar.

ECDC “Monitoring the responses to hepatitis B and C epidemics in the EU/EEA Member States, 2019” Report
To coincide with the 2020 SETW, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control published their report, “Monitoring the responses to hepatitis B and C epidemics in the EU/EEA Member States, 2019.”
The report highlights that a high proportion of people living with hepatitis B and C infections are undiagnosed, implying that increased efforts are needed to scale up testing.

EMCDDA “Drug-related infectious diseases in Europe: Update from the EMCDDA expert network, 2020” report
Additionally, the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction published, "Drug-related infectious diseases in Europe: Update from the EMCDDA expert network, 2020," to provide a comprehensive overview of the current situation with regard to the epidemiological picture of drug-related infectious diseases in Europe, while highlighting innovative responses to issues.
