The “Nation’s Report Card” recently released the following dismal results for 8th grade students tested on American History, geography, and civics in 2018:
Only 15% of all students performed at or above the proficient level in U.S. History.
Only 25% of all students performed at or above the proficient level in geography.
Only 28% of all students performed at or above the proficient level in civics.
