Peace be with you, friends.

When I first read through Psalm 25, verse 7 jumped out at me. In the Common English Bible, it goes like this:
But don’t remember the sins of my youth or my wrongdoing.
Remember me only according to your faithful love
for the sake of your goodness, Lord.
I was reading an article and the author suggested that the longer folks are quarantined, the greater the strain on their immediate relationships. When we spend a lot of time with people without breaks, it is certainly possible that certain behaviours will become a smidge grating on our nerves. Without “breaks” or some separation, we may have the tendencies to act or speak in ways that are not indicative of how we feel about that individual or those individuals.
I would like to offer this prayer, inspired by Psalm 25:7, to assist you in times where patience and compassion are running close to empty.

God, whom we know in relationship as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, may you soothe us as our patience depletes. Come alongside of us as we move quickly to act or speak in ways that do not honour the other. May you continue to look at us with compassion and love, and may that outlook be present in us as we look on those we live alongside of. Amen.

Know that God does not hold grudges. Know that God will always reach out to you in love.

Peace,
Rev. Eric

As you reflect on Todays worship video consider the following questions:

Is there a time you have felt the presence of God in your life?

When you seek direction from God, what form does that come in?

While it is not the same as physically being together, God has shown us that the church is so much more than a building on a corner.  It is the people of God, praying for one another, gathering through technology, and reflecting the presence of Jesus in our communities. The work of the congregation continues and your offerings and givings help us do the work of the church. You may make an online offering on our website or you may call the office for other options including automatic withdrawals or mailed givings. Thank you for your support in this time and always.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21
